Tate Modern: Tacita Dean

These are some photos I took of Tacita dean's work at the Tate Modern. I found this exhibition quite unusual. I'm not sure I completely grasped what the artist was trying to convey. I watched it for long enough, making sure that I gave it enough justice to show all of the piece's different aspects, and that I caught the whole point of it, not missing any important variations which could reveal its meaning.

It seems to me as though the artist brought together and blended a guillotine, a film strip and added patterns, colours, and striking nature photos to create a collection of different varieties. I think perhaps the artist was trying to bring together the blade of the guillotine, and gentle life-for example, leaves of a tree. Not just that, but, death against life. The hole where the person's head would go moves several times, changing positions throughout the different variations, some of which have a human eye appear in them. I'm not exactly sure what the eye is supposed to signify.
